Steve Pavlina on how to become an early riser: “It’s very simple, and many early risers do this without even thinking about it, but it was a mental breakthrough for me nonetheless. The solution was to go to bed when I’m sleepy (and only when I’m sleepy) and get up with an alarm clock at a fixed time (7 days per week). So I always get up at the same time (in my case 5am), but I go to bed at different times every night.”
This is exactly how I do it too. Yes, I’m the antihacker: I go to bed anywhere from 9pm to 11pm and get up at 5am. But, hey, it works for me. The first few hours of a morning are the most productive for me. And I too experience the positive side effects described here: I sleep less (thus having more time to do interesting things), I’m better rested, and I’m more productive throughout the day, not just in the additional time being an early riser gives me.
Looks like we awake at the same time (literally, I’m GMT +0200).
