Whenever the words “forgive my” appear in the English language, you can be sure the word “but” isn’t far behind, and this sentence is no different: Forgive my shameless self-promotion, but we at Progeny often don’t get a chance to publicly talk about who our customers are–that’s one of the drawbacks of being in a business that delivers technologies that “power” other companies’ products, often in an invisible way.
We recently posted a success story describing how we built a custom carrier-grade Linux platform based on Debian for Hewlett-Packard. I blogged about the work last August but could not reveal that we were involved at the time.
On a related note, this is probably why BASF spends so much time and money telling the world, “We don’t make a lot of the products you buy. We make a lot of the products you buy better®.”
